MiMA Electric Forklift After-Sales MaintenanceTips: Daily Inspection

Daily inspections of electric forklifts are crucial to ensuring safe operation. This procedure must be strictly followed before starting the vehicle each day. In environments with shift-based work, a full and thorough inspection must be carried out before the start of each shift.

  • Never operate a forklift that has not been inspected or is found to have defects.

  • If any safety hazards are found during a shift change, immediately stop the forklift and report the issue so that timely action can be taken.

MiMA Electric Forklift Inspection Steps

Pre-Power-On Visual Inspection

Before turning on the power, the MiMA electric forklift needs to undergo several checks:
First, inspect the appearance for any abnormalities.
Second, check the tires for damage, and then walk around the vehicle to look for any loose screws.
Then, check whether the forks are deformed and whether there are any oil leaks.

Post-Power-On Functionality Check

Once the forklift is powered on, perform a detailed check of its functions.
For example, check the instrument panel for faults, verify that each function, such as lifting, lowering, and moving forward and backward, is working properly, and ensure the forks can tilt forward and backward.
Also, check that the lights work, the horn sounds, and the steering functions properly.
Additionally, be sure to confirm the forklift’s load limits, driving speed, and speed under load to ensure safe operation.

Common Oil Leak Points on MiMA Electric Forklifts

Check the following areas for oil leaks:

  • Oil Lines: Check the surface of the oil lines for any leakage.
  • Connectors: Carefully inspect all connections for oil leaks.
  • Hydraulic Cylinders: Check for oil stains on the outside and any internal leakage. Also, check the ground around the forklift for any oil spots.

MiMA Electric Forklift Daily Inspection Items

The daily inspection of a MiMA electric forklift covers the following aspects:

  • Overall Condition: Inspect the condition of protective covers, check for missing or loose nuts and bolts, and check for leaks of hydraulic oil, battery electrolyte, or brake fluid under the forklift.
  • Wheels and Tires: Check for wheel damage, tire cuts, foreign objects, and ensure wheel fasteners are secure.
  • Forks: Inspect forks for excessive wear, cracks, breakage, or deformation. Ensure they are evenly spaced, and the positioning pins are locked.
  • Load Backrest (if installed): Check for deformation or breakage, and ensure it is securely fixed.
  • Hydraulics: Inspect hydraulic hoses for twists or wear, and check seals and couplings for damage or leakage.
  • Mast: Inspect the mast slots (regularly lubricate with grease), chains, and bearings for excessive wear, deformation, or breakage. Check if the chain is missing links or pins and ensure the chain is properly tensioned and lubricated.
  • Hydraulic Oil Tank: Inspect for damage or leaks, and check the hydraulic oil level.
  • Battery: Ensure battery connections are secure, check for damage or leakage, monitor the electrolyte level, and check for loose or exposed wires and corroded terminals.
  • Driving and Braking: Test the forward and reverse driving of the forklift and test the drive and parking brakes.
  • Steering: Test both stationary and moving steering for slipping or binding.
  • Horn, Lights, Reversing Alarm, and Signals: Check if they are functioning properly.
  • Instrument Panel: Ensure the hour meter is working and all warning lights are off.
  • Rearview Mirrors: Check that mirrors are present, clean, and in good condition.
  • Wiring Harness/Terminals: Inspect the harness for wear or damage, and ensure all terminals are securely connected and undamaged.

Reminder

Each detailed inspection is a commitment to safety and a guarantee of efficient operation. Regular checks help identify and eliminate potential faults, extend the lifespan of the forklift, reduce maintenance costs, and most importantly, ensure the safety of personnel and the surrounding environment. Safety is no small matter, and inspections cannot be ignored. Let’s work together to create a safer, more efficient, and greener logistics environment.
